Problem: Outdated contract templates being used, contracts getting signed without legal vetting, executed contracts hard to find
Solution: I helped implement a system, DocuSign CLM with automated solutions for the above problems.
- Rather than asking around for the latest contract template, the system consolidated them into a dropdown menu as shown in the picture above.
- Whenever a third-party contract template was used or changes were made to Vice's templates, the system automatically routed the contract to the appropriate lawyer to review before allowing the user to send it for signature.
- When a contract was signed after going through the contract lifecycle management module, it automatically got filed away into a fully searchable contract repository.
In addition to the implementation, I worked with key stakeholders to enact a policy to help enforce system adoption.
